Sticky: hiatus notice

Hello, everyone. It’s been clear for a while now, but today I’m making it official: Kat Dennings Diaries is on hiatus. This does not mean the site is being let go off, far from it, but there have not been any news at all to post, besides Kat’s appearance in Marvel’s special series MPower, which in turn was recorded during the WandaVision era. Currently, there are no current or upcoming projects for Kat that I know of, which makes the keeping of a website most difficult on the daily.

This being said, there is still much to be done. Thanks to Divine Candice, I’m slowly adding to the 2 Broke Girls screencaptures section in the gallery, and there are many other projects or videos I want to build on myself, as well as to replace previously uploaded pictures with their higher quality counterparts. Concurrently, work on the website’s pages is, always and ever, an ongoing project of its own. And I still want to create a proper video vault with a bunch of neat features, courtesy of Kaci.

So, instead of fully pulling the breaks on the website, what can we do? You can help me, us, stay active by donating media content that we’re missing, of which outtakes and rare images are most welcome. If you’re an essayist with an article touching on a project of Kat’s you would like to explore, drop a DM to appear as a guest author. As a fan, you can add your name to the fanlisting so as to keep its timestamp updated. Finally, if you’d like to help with the site expenses so it can remain online to welcome Kat back into acting when she does, do send a direct message for a monetary donation.

Kat Dennings Diaries is on HIATUS but it’s NOT going anywhere!

Gallery update: *exclusive* 2008 photoshoot

We have added 25 HQ images of the time Sasha Eisenman focused her lenses on Kat for Entertainment Weekly, back in 2008. Five of them happen to be updates of images we had previously uploaded. As always, we claim no credit or ownership of these — our watermark is meant to discourage reposts to other Kat-dedicated entities.

Member of the Short Lashes Club? Meet your noble president, Kat Dennings

I’m definitely not the first or last person to tell you that no one really notices that one little thing about your appearance that you consider an imperfection — and even if they do notice it, it doesn’t detract from your overall gorgeousness. For example, perhaps you have short eyelashes, and you find that frustrating and less than ideal. Well, what if I told you that the objectively stunning Kat Dennings has short eyelashes, too? It’s true!

On Sunday, Dennings expressed incredulity on her Instagram Stories over how some people are running — on purpose — in this historic heat. She followed that slide with a closeup of her eyes and the caption, “I’m not going outdoors again until fall thank u.” That was then followed by an even closer closeup that reads, “Also don’t come for my short lashes I’ve always had short lashes and I accept it I just accept it.”

And that’s the spirit! But for reals — have you literally ever noticed before this that her lashes are short kings? And now that you know, do you see her in anything less the same admiring light? Of course not. And while winged eyeliner is her signature style and she might incorporate mascara into her look, Dennings told us in 2022 that you won’t catch her wearing false lashes unless an on-set makeup artist is applying them for a role.

Although getting comfortable with something like short lashes (which is a totally not-at-all-abnormal thing to have) is fantastic, acceptance doesn’t mean you have to give up on trying to achieve the look of longer lashes. Variety is the spice of life — you can go with bare lashes one day, mascara the next, and false lashes whenever you’ve got the patience to apply them. Just know that if your lashes are short, you’re in very good company.
